This is my culminating thankful blog. I have probably touched on some of this, but I feel blessed in so many ways! I was born to two of the best parents a person could ever have. They loved me unconditionally, were amazing role models, and were always there for me!
Also, I belong to a very large, fun-loving family; many people don't even know their extended families, and we all get together often. I have a great husband, great kids, and the best granddaughter ever! I have an awesome church family as well!
I had a job I loved for many years, and I am retired. The pleasure I experienced through the years with children was awesome!
I have a fun, joyful and full life, and all of these things, as well as the things for each of the 29 previous days would not be possible without the love of God and the grace from a loving Jesus. I am so thankful I am a Christian....definitely not perfect, but I don't have to be! Thank you, Lord!!

Pinterest, I am thankful for you! Tonight we had some awesome chicken breasts that were so easy and yum, and where did I get the recipe? You guessed it!
Now that I have expressed my thankfulness for dear Pinterest, I must share my fears! Like all good things, there is the possibility that it may someday disappear! It's so nice to save recipes (and ideas, etc., but mostly recipes!) there, but what happens if it goes away? Scary thought, isn't it? Think of the time you have spent pinning all of those things! I must confess, though, that instead of searching, I mostly just repin things I see from friends on Facebook! I am very thankful for Pinterest.
I am also thankful that this "November Thankfulness" is almost over. I have enjoyed it, but making sure I did an entry every day kind of stressed me out at times! It would be midnight, and I would think, "Oh, no, I didn't do my blog post!" I would hop up and run into the computer room to make sure I didn't miss a day! No one said the journal had to have a daily entry; it's just some pressure I put on myself.
I really have enjoyed writing random thoughts, though, so I may do another one. I will just get it in my head that I will add to it at random...just like my thoughts!

I am thankful that the Christmas season has begun, even though I still have a lot to do. I am thankful that we had time to put up our tree today. Lucy loves this tree, but she really didn't want us to put ornaments on it; she liked them better in a pile where she could pick them up and look at them closely.
This tree means a lot to me. A few years ago, I really had no desire to put up a tree. I was at Garden Ridge and saw this tree. It has big ball lights on it, and they blink off and on in patterns of different colors, to music, if one desires. I ran into some friends that day and showed them the "tree that does tricks!" They loved it, too! I decided I would get it and decorate it entirely with star ornaments. I bought some there, and then kept my eyes open for more stars in the next few days. I was inspired and became excited about having a tree again! I will never forget the way that tree made me feel that year...I still love it...it now has more than just stars on it. I am so thankful that I came across this happy tree those years ago that helped me through a very difficult time! Now it brings great joy to Lucy...we left it up way past Christmas last year, because when she would wake up each morning, she would point at it and want it turned on! Great tree!

Modern medicine is what I am thankful for today. I broke down and went to the doctor. After some poking, prodding and listening/talking about the inventions of Ben Franklin (yes, my doctor is an interesting sort!), I don't really have a diagnosis, but I know that my throat is extremely red ("any redder, and it would be bleeding") and the worst he has seen in awhile and that I am contagious. I also know that he prescribed an antibiotic and a high-powered cough medicine, so therefore, I know that in all likelihood I will be feeling much better by this this time tomorrow! I also should no longer be contagious, so I should be able to continue with my actual life activities!!

I am so thankful that I had a day to lie around and do nothing and perhaps help this hateful cold/sore throat lessen to some degree! I am thankful that I have good and understanding people who have my back when I need to take a night off from my duties at church! I am so glad we decided for me to train Reed just in case I needed off sometime and am glad she was excited to do it!! I am also thankful that Melanie is feeling better, as well....not fun when we are under the weather!!
